What is Candy Blast?

Merkur Spielbanken Beteiligungs GmbH, a subsidiary of Merkur AG has reached an agreement to acquire a controlling interest in Société Française de Casinos (SFC).

The development marks a significant move by Merkur to expand its footprint within the French regulated gambling market.

On 27 August, Merkur signed a put option agreement with GPG Groupe Philippe Ginestet and DOFA, enabling the purchase of Casigrangi.

According to local reporting on Monday, the Interior Ministry confirmed that accounts connected with the suspects had exhibited suspicious financial activity amounting to 17.75 billion lira ($365.8 million). 

Coordinated efforts between the government’s cybercrime and anti-smuggling units, the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) and local prosecutors led to raids in the provinces of Adıyaman, Konya, Manisa, Muğla, Tekirdağ, Siirt, Muş and Çorum.

Officials alleged that the individuals involved had been operating illegal betting websites and had facilitated the movement of proceeds from gambling through Türkiye’s financial system.

The latest contribution is not the first time Rovito’s campaign donations to Grasso have attracted attention.

In 2017, Rovito donated $5,000 to Grasso’s unsuccessful campaign for Illinois attorney general. Grasso returned that money about a month later after a television station questioned the contribution, according to Patch. 

Grasso did not explain the reason for that earlier return.
